3/16" Aluminum — This is the go-to choice. It's tough, handles impacts well, and won't weigh you down.
1/2" UHMW — Ultra High Molecular Weight plastic. If you're dragging over sharp rocks and stumps constantly, this stuff shrugs it off. It's built to take serious abrasion.
Finish Options
Want your aluminum skid plates in black? Add a black powder coat finish for $130. Keep in mind that if you choose this, tack on an extra 1–2 weeks before it ships out. This option is only for aluminum sets — if you go with UHMW, it comes in black already.
