Material choices:
You've got two routes here. Go with 3/16" aluminum if you want solid protection that's straightforward to install. Or step up to 3/16" aluminum with a 1/4" UHMW plastic layer on top — that UHMW takes the real beating and keeps the aluminum underneath in better shape longer.
Black powder coat:
Want that glossy black finish instead of bare metal? You can add it for an extra $50, but know that it'll tack on about 1-2 weeks to your shipping time. It's only available in black.
