The Finish
Out of the box, your skid plate comes with a clear anodize coating that keeps rust away and protects the aluminum underneath. If you want something darker and tougher-looking, you can add a black powder coat finish for $45. Heads up — if you choose the black powder coat, plan for an extra 1 to 2 weeks before it ships.
