Kawasaki KLX250 Skid Plate (2006-2021) — Redesigned & Built in the USA
We completely redesigned this skid plate from scratch, and it's the strongest one we've made yet. It bolts on to your KLX250 and shields your undercarriage from rocks, logs, stumps, and whatever else you throw at it. The whole thing comes with everything you need to bolt it down—no drilling, no modifications to your bike.
You've got two options: go with straight aluminum, or add a layer of UHMW plastic on top. That plastic layer is slick and soaks up impact, so your bike glides over obstacles and takes hits better. Either way, you're getting a solid piece of protection built right here in the USA.

Material Choices
Aluminum Only: 5052-H32 aircraft-grade aluminum, 0.160" thick with a clear anodized coating that resists corrosion.
Aluminum + UHMW: Same tough aluminum base with a UHMW plastic layer glued on top. The plastic is slippery and absorbs shock, so rocks and obstacles don't hit as hard.
Already Got Our Skid?
If you're running our older KLX250 skid and want to add the UHMW layer without replacing the whole thing, we sell the overlay separately. It clips right on top of what you've got.
Why Chromoly Hardware Matters
Stock fasteners are mild steel and can bend or snap. We use Chromoly brackets—they're more than twice as strong. Your skid stays tight, won't rattle, and pulls off easy if you ever need to service it.

Custom hardware means bolt-on install in just a few minutes. No drilling, no tapping threads into your frame.

Want a durable black finish instead of the standard look? Add the black powder coat and plan on an extra 1 to 2 weeks for shipping. Black is the only color available for this upgrade.
