Pick Your Material
Aluminum (no suffix): Straight-up strong and rigid. Handles the toughest hits and won't bend. Best choice if you want one solid piece of protection that'll last forever.
Hybrid (-P): Aluminum frame with a 1/4" thick layer of self-lubricating UHMW plastic bonded on top. You get aluminum's strength plus plastic's slippery surface so rocks and roots slide off instead of catching. Great for mixed terrain.
1/2" UHMW Belly Pan (-U): The belly pan gets swapped out for a thicker 1/2" slab of self-lubricating UHMW that glides right over obstacles. All the other pieces stay aluminum. Pick this if you're constantly dragging over rocky or rooted ground and want that slick plastic where it counts most.
