Material Choices:
You've got three ways to go here. There's 3/16" aluminum if you want something that's strong and takes a beating. Then there's 1/2" UHMW plastic ā it's super tough against impacts and slides over rocks without much friction. Or split the difference with a hybrid setup: aluminum frame with 1/4" of UHMW bonded on top, giving you the best of both.

Want your skid plates to look sharp and last longer? Ricochet offers black powder coat. You can get the whole system coated (Complete, $229) or just the visible pieces (Visible Pieces, $130). If you pick powder coat, tack on an extra 1-2 weeks for shipping.
