Material Choices
You've got two material options. The standard is 3/16" 5052-H32 aluminum ā solid, tough, and gets the job done. Or step up to 3/16" aluminum with a 1/4" UHMW polyethylene layer on top for extra sliding resistance and durability against heavy impacts.

Want your skid plate to look sharp and have an extra protective layer? Add a black powder coat finish. It'll take an extra 1-2 weeks to get to you, but you get two ways to do it:
