Material Choices
3/16" 5052 H-32 Aluminum: Solid all-around choice. Handles rocks and roots, won't rust, and keeps weight reasonable.
3/16" Aluminum with 1/4" UHMW Plastic: Go with this if you're hammering rough terrain hard. The plastic layer absorbs hits better and slides over stumps and logs without digging in.
Black Powder Coat Option
Add a tough black powder coat finish to any kit for $50 (visible pieces only) or $160 (complete coverage). If you pick the powder coat, expect an extra 1–2 weeks before it ships — the coating takes time to cure right.
